Youngman remanded for robbery

A 24-year old suspected armed robber who led his friend to rob his father of GH¢ 6,260 at Gulumpe in the Kintampo North Municipality, has been remanded into prison custody.

Briefing the Media in Sunyani, Police Superintendent Alhaji Maama Arhin, Regional Crime Officer, stated that Ibrahim Seidu informed an accomplice, Amadu Nuhu, aged 27, that his 72-year old father, Seidu Alhassan, had sold his cow and kept the money in the house.

He said the two suspects at about 0200 hours, organized themselves with locally manufactured guns and other offensive weapons and went to effect their operation.

Supt Arhin said they went to the place, tied the father at gun point and threw him out of the window.

He stated that a complainant raised an alarm and whilst suspects were running away, the right canvas of one of them got stuck in the mud.

Supt Arhin said the foot prints of the suspects were traced and a canvas belonging to Amadu was identified.

He said Amadu on his arrest mentioned Seidu as his accomplice who organized for them to rob his father.

The Regional Crime Officer stated that suspects who are Fulani tribesmen were arraigned before a Magistrate Court at Jema in the Kintampo South District and remanded into prison custody to assist in investigations.
