Help the youth to acquire employable skills

Religious Organizations must set up vocational and technical training clubs to train the youth in their communities in various vacations for them to acquire some skill and vocations to curb unemployment and anti-social vices that destroys their future.

This he said would also prevent idleness among the youth, particularly in the small towns and communities and also curb teenage pregnancies in these areas.

Reverend Samuel Adu-Gyamfi, founder of Christ our King church at Sewua, in the Bosomtwe District, said these during a service to climax the churches annual “Youth Day” celebrations at the churches premises at Sewua.

He spoke on the theme “The fear of God, is the beginning of wisdom”

He said the word of God must be instilled in them so that corruption, backbiting, witch hunting and pull him doom attitude hatred and other bad attitudes would not be part of them.

The responsibility lies on parents, teachers and religious leaders to ensure that the youth who are the future leaders of the country are bred properly.

He cited the Presbyterian Church or Ghana and other old missionaries who used to teach their members discipline and good morals right from childhood, adding that this attitude must come back.

Rev. Adu-Gyamfi also said his church is putting in place measures to train the youth in the area who are between the ages of 15 and 25 and have dropped out of school in various vocations and ventures such as dress-making, tailoring, carpentary, masonry as well as grass-cutter, rabbit rearing and poultry farming.

Some potion of land have already been acquired for this purpose.

Madam Lawrencia Mensah, Leader of the Womens’ Ministry urged the youth in the area to desist from marihuana smoking and habits that would jeopardize their future.
