Tamale baby thief arrested

Thirty-eight-year old Vida Golomesio has been arrested with a baby boy at Karaga in the Northern region.

Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer ASP Ebenezer Tetteh who confirmed the arrest to Starrfmonline.com disclosed that the identity of the baby has been established as the one belonging to 27-year old Limah Addo who was reported missing.

The baby boy was delivered last weekend at the Tamale West Hospital and mysteriously went missing after being discharged from the facility.

According to ASP Tetteh, the suspect could not explain as to how she came by the infant in her possession by residents who first arrested her close to a farming community in the area.

She was subsequently whisked to the Karaga Chief’s palace before being handed over to the police.

The Karaga district police took custody of the baby who is well and receiving treatment from nurses at the Karaga district hospital after several days in captivity.

The police spokesperson disclosed that the suspect will later today be transferred to the regional office of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support (DOVVSU) and charged for the offence.
