Rawlings, Wife Leave For Common wealth Summit

Accra, (Greater Accra) 23 Oct., President Jerry John Rawlings left Accra today for Edinburgh, Scotland to attend the October 24- 27 Commonwealth Heads Of Governments Meeting (CHOGM). He was accompanied by the First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, Mr. Victor Gbeho, deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Victor Selormey, Deputy Minister of Finance. He was seen off at the airport by the Vice-President Professor John Atta Mills, Alhaji Idrissu Mahama, Minister of Defence, Ministers of State, Chief of Defence Staff Major Ben Akafia, the acting British High Commissioner in Ghana, Mr. David Wyatt and the deputy head of mission of the German Embassy, Miss Marja Einig. President Rawlings and his entourage will pay an official visit to Germany after the CHOGM meeting at the invitation of the German government.
