NRC to have in-camera hearings next week

Accra, July 25, GNA – The National Reconciliation Commission (NRC) on Friday announced that it would conduct in-camera hearings in Accra next week.

A statement signed by Mr Mohamed Affum for the Director of Public Affairs said the in-camera hearings would be from Tuesday to Thursday. The Commission would then move to Sekondi from August 5 to 15. The statement said the venue for the Sekondi hearings would be the West African Examinations Council Hall.

It said 83 cases of human rights violations, including killings, abductions, torture, ill-treatment and seizure of property have been listed for hearing.

The Sekondi hearings would be the third time the NRC is sitting outside Accra after Kumasi and Tamale.
