Ghana Embassy staff in Monrovia evacuated

Accra, July 25, GNA – The staff of Ghana’s Embassy in Monrovia, Liberia, have been evacuated following the worsening security situation in the Liberian capital.

Staff of the Embassy were airlifted back home on board a Ghana Air Force plane on Friday.

Also on board were some Liberians who had relatives in Accra. According to a source from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a skeleton staff has, however, been left to hold the fort until the security situation normalizes.
