Veep redeems pledge to Richoff Disability Foundation

Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur on Tuesday made good a promise last July to donate a bus to the Richoff Disability Foundation, an amputee club to facilitate the movement of the club.

The Vice President, who was present at the ceremony, in Accra, gave the keys of the brand new 16-seater Hyundai bus to Mr Alban Sumani Bagbin, the Majority Leader in Parliament, and a patron of the Foundation, who in turn handed them to Mr Richard Offei, the President of the Foundation.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur commended Mr Offei for the initiative to establish the Foundation and the proposed construction of an ultra-modern disability sports and educational academy, at Gomoa Dominase in the Central Region.

He urged Mr Offei not to let the dream die, but to pursue the vision so that it benefitted all.

Vice President Amissah-Arrhur encouraged all individuals, groups and organisations, who had made pledges to the Foundation to redeem them to support the worthy course.

Among the facilities in the proposed complex are sports facilities, vocational school, orphanage, a clinic and a police post.

The Foundation, through Mr Bagbin, presented a plaque, with a citation to the Vice President.

Mr Offei thanked Mr Bagbin for his support to the Foundation and acknowledged the contributions of the chief patron of the Foundation Otumfuo Osei Tutu, Asantehene.

He also acknowledged Mr Isaac Osei, MP for Subin, another patron, Mrs Amy Appiah Frimpong, acting Executive Director of the National Theatre, and companies including TT Brothers, Tobinco and Sasso Company, among others.
