Disqualified NDC aspirant appeals against decision

Henry Bortey Dartey, an aspiring parliamentary candidate for the Effutu Constituency who was disqualified during his vetting, has appealed against the decision.

Mr. Dartey, according to party officials, was disqualified on grounds of not being a member in good standing.

“He is very proactive in the party but has not been paying his dues regularly. That is why he was disqualified,” a party official who wanted to remain anonymous told this website.

Our sources say Mr. Dartey believes that he has made other contributions other than the payment of dues and so feels that he should be considered in that regard.

The date for the hearing of his appeal is not immediately known but is expected to take place at the national headquarters of the party as demanded by the guidelines for the primaries.

Two other candidates, Doreen Awurabena Manison and Daniel Ohene Darko from Komenda Edina Eguafo Abirem and Upper Denkyira West Constituencies who also disqualified in the Central Region alongside Mr. Dartey, have come to terms with their disqualification.
