Abeiku Santana has failed Central region – Allotey Jacobs

The Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Allotey Jacobs says the decision of Radio personality, Abeiku Santana, to bow out from the NDC primary race is unfortunate for the region.

He said although the Okay FM Broadcaster couldn’t have been forced to reconsider his decision for pulling out of the contest, Abeiku’s candidature was in no doubt a good move for the party, which he noted would have enriched the image of the party.

“He didn’t contest, for reasons best known to him; but I believed he coming on board would have enriched the image of the party. I was happy when I heard he’s coming to contest, because as a matter of fact, he’s popular in the region and has a massive following- he plays the role as Master of Ceremony (MC) at most of our festivals,“ he explained in an interview with Accra-based Okay FM.

Popular entertainer and radio presenter, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey aka Abeiku Santana failed to pick forms to contest the Mfantsiman seat of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He had earlier stated that he is competent enough to run for the position, adding that his 18 years experience working in the media will be very crucial for his work as an MP if he is elected.

However, the broadcaster made a dramatic U-turn, as he reportedly did not even pick up his nomination forms to launch his political ambitions.
