Benton Harbor man arrested in Ghana

The family of a Benton Harbor man who is facing human trafficking charges in Ghana is trying to get him home.

Roy Barry went to the African nation earlier this month to meet his six-year-old goddaughter and bring her to Michigan for a visit.

In a video posted on Facebook, he says he was arrested when he went to the U.S. Embassy to get the girl a visa.

Barry is out on bond and says he’s been wrongfully accused. In the video, he was asked if he thinks he was arrested because he’s black.

His passport and ID have been seized, and the family is working with Congressman Fred Upton to earn his release.
