47 NDC aspirants vetted in Upper East

Forty-seven National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Aspirants in the Upper East Region were on Tuesday, vetted in Bolgatanga by the National and Regional Executives of the party.

Out of the forty-seven aspirants contesting the fifteen constituencies in the region, only three of them are females.

Some of the aspirants include incumbent Members of Parliament (MP). They are Mr Cletus Avoka, MP for Zebilla, Mr Abuga Pele, MP for the Chiana-Paga Constituency, Mr Dominic Azumah Azimbe, MP for Garu Tempane, Madam Hajia Lardi, MP for Pusiga, Mr Opam Brown, MP for Bolgatanga Central, Mr Dominic Ayine, MP for Bolgatanga East and Mr Mark Woyongo, the MP for Navrongo Central.

Meanwhile the MP for the Bongo Constituency, Mr Albert Abongo, who had been in parliament for 16 years is not contesting this time around. Three District Chief Executives, out of the thirteen District Chief Executives in the Region are in the race.

Among the National Executives, who conducted the exercise were the General Secretary of the party, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia and Mrs Betty Mould Iddrisu, the National Vice Chairperson.
