NDC Primaries: Vetting of aspirants begin today

The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) would be vetting all aspirants for the various constituencies today at the party’s headquarters in Accra.

President John Mahama, the only contender for the party’s flagbearer position, would also be vetted at the same venue on a yet to be specified date.

Party General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia said in a statement that “Eastern, Upper East, Central and Upper West regions will have their vetting on Tuesday.

Those from the Ashanti, Northern and Western regions will be vetted on Wednesday, September 23 while those from Volta and Greater Accra regions will be vetted on September 29 and September 30 respectively.

As of the time filing of nominations closed, a total of 106 candidates had submitted their forms. The NDC has slated November 7 for its primaries to elect constituency representatives to contest in the 2016 elections.
