Political tension, robbery can derail Ghana’s peace – Bombande

Security analyst, Emmanuel Bombande has warned Ghanaians against acts that could derail the country’s peace credentials.

Ghana is regarded in the West African Sub-region to be peaceful and democratic .

But on the occasion of international peace day which falls today September 21, Mr. Bombande is worried recent political tension, chieftaincy clashes and robbery attacks could derail such successes.

The Former Executive Director of the West African Network for Peace building told Starr News Ghanaians must be vigilant and promote peaceful coexistence ahead of next year’s elections.

“We should ask ourselves what peace does for us, let’s do it by not asking what other people can do, but what we can individually do for the peace of the country.

“It is respectful on our part, regardless of which political party we belong to and which religion we belong, to be peaceful towards each other,” he stated.

The Brong Ahafo region in recent time has been flagged as most violent area to live in Ghana.

The regional Peace Council is holding a symposium to sensitize residents there about the importance of peace.
