Robbers raid NDC office in Cape Coast

Armed men in the early hours of Sunday broke into the regional office of the National Democratic Congress in Cape Coast, making away with several items.

The robbers numbering about five according to the security man at post, ransacked all the offices in the building and made away with an amount of Ghc 3,000 and a 32 inch Samsung plasma TV.

The offices of the regional chairman and the elections officer were the worst affected in the robbery.

Central regional Chairman of the NDC, Ben Allotey Jacobs told Starr News that it is clear that the robbers were seeking for information on the party’s biometric registration exercise.

“I don’t know what they were looking for…but it looks like the target was my office and that of the elections director’s office.

“It is either they came for information regarding the biometric registration and using as a decoy the removal of TV in my office.

“If you look at the way the whole place is scattered, one is inclined to believe that there is a motive behind the robbery”.

He, however, added that the party would not be discouraged by the robbery incident and would go ahead with its organisation towards the 2016 elections.
