The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) has elected new national officers for a four-year term.
All the old national executives who have been in office for 12 years were replaced with a new crop of leadership.
Mr. Kwame Kuma polled 1, 125 votes to unseat incumbent chairman, Alhaji Yaw Manu, who had only 272 of the votes.
Mr. Moses Davoh, the current vice chairman, got only 275 votes to hand the baton over to Mr Robert Sarbah, who secured 1,119 of the votes.
The new General Secretary, Issah Khaleepha, had 1,143 votes to beat Mr Stephen Okudzeto who polled only 230 votes.
Mr. George Davis who is now the Deputy General Secretary in charge of Administration, secured 1,070 votes, leaving only 320 for Mr Moro Abubakar Fusein.
The new Secretary in charge of Operations is Mr Alexander Krah, who had 1,127 votes to defeat the incumbent Nelson kwesi Tseh who polled 284 votes.
Mr. Augustine Mensah had 1, 178 to unseat Mr. Kwesi Ansah for the First Trustee position.
The Second Trustee position was also taken from Jacob Odei who got 368 votes, while Nana Kodua won with 1,018 votes.
Mr. Kofi Asamoah, Secretary General of the Ghana Trades Union Congress who chaired the function, encouraged the newly elected officers to work hard as transport providers, to sustain the transport industry.
