66 Navy Recruits Pass-Out.

Sekondi, July 19, GNA – Personnel of the Security Services have again been advised not to use their uniforms to harass, intimidate, settle personal scores or by any means take the law into their own hands. Mr. Joseph Boahen Aidoo, Western Regional Minister warned that any officer who flouts or contravenes the ethics of the profession would be prosecuted and dismissed from the service.

The Regional Minister was addressing the passing-out parade of 66 recruits of the Ghana Navy at the Western Naval Command at Sekondi on Friday. He appealed to the young sailors, not to indulge in acts that would bring the name of the Navy into disrepute. Mr. Aidoo rather asked them to be vigilant and report all suspected criminals to the appropriate authorities. “Do not be deceived by anybody, neither should you allow adventurists to use you to overthrow the constitution of Ghana”, he stressed.

The Regional Minister reminded them that discipline, hardwork, dedication, loyalty and co-operation are the hallmarks of every patriotic security personnel. Mr. Aidoo expressed the appreciation of the government to the Ghana Navy for rescuing stranded Ghanaians from Liberia. Ordinary Seaman Under Training (OSUT) Sylvester Kwaku Seshie, grabbed the best all-round recruit and best in drill awards. OSUT Paul J. Afeku also took the prize for best in weapon training. In an interview, OSUT Seshie told the GNA that his achievements were won through personal sacrifice and hardwork.
