Police in the Bibiani District have arrested a 45-year-old farmer, Kwabena Asiedu, for allegedly stabbing his 18-year-old daughter multiple times during a confrontation over her pregnancy.
The incident took place in Sefwi Tanoso Praso, a community within the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality in Ghana’s Western North Region, according to a report by Adomonline.com.
The victim, identified as Susana Asiedu—also known as Maabena—is a hairdressing apprentice. According to police accounts, she was visiting a friend when her father approached her and accused her of being five months pregnant while still undergoing training.
Susana reportedly confirmed the pregnancy, prompting a heated argument that quickly escalated. Kwabena Asiedu is alleged to have drawn a kitchen knife and chased his daughter into her friend’s room, where he stabbed her multiple times.
Eyewitnesses say the suspect fled the scene immediately after the attack.
Susana was found unconscious due to the severity of her injuries and was rushed to the Bibiani Government Hospital by a local unit committee member.
Police have since confirmed that Kwabena Asiedu has been arrested and is currently assisting with investigations.
