Hajj Board chairman picks NDC forms

Chairman for the Ghana Hajj Board Alhaji Ibrahim Tanko has picked forms to contest the November 7 parliamentary primary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Yagaba Kubori Constituency of the Northern Region.

A former member of parliament (MP), Alhaji Tanko lost the seat to the sitting MP, Ussif Mustapha, in the 2012 elections.

A teeming crowd followed Alhaji Tanko as he went to pick his forms over the weekend.

Most of them are calling for his return to the helm as they want him back to continue his good works.

Addressing party supporters at the constituency office in Yagaba, the former MP reiterated the need for the NDC to be united even after the primaries and has assured delegates of an all-inclusive engagement with constituents.

He said though the seat currently belongs to NPP, the president and NDC’s leader, John Dramani Mahama, has not turned his back to them as he provides developmental projects in the face of economic difficulties.

Alhaji Tanko is said to be behind the creation of the Mamprusi Magduri District.
