NDC Youth Organiser calls for a clean campaign

Aspiring parliamentary candidates of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) have been reminded to ensure a clean and decent campaign to safeguard the unity of the party.

Mr Osman Abdallah, the Deputy Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser of the party, said making up stories against opponents just to make them look bad is not the right thing to do.

He said candidates are expected to convince delegates of their strengths and what they are going to do differently to assure the NDC of resounding victory in the general election.

Mr Abdallah, who gave the reminder in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi, he asked all to be tolerant, be measured in their pronouncements and to display a high level of political maturity.

He said anything likely to negatively affect the electoral fortunes of the NDC should be avoided.

Mr Abdallah said the party could simply not afford to go into the 2016 general election with a cracked and fragmented front.

He said the NDC should work together to make sure that the party emerges from the parliamentary primaries more united and well-focused on the battle to retain political power, he added.

Mr Abdallah said the disciplinary committee of the party would not hesitate to call to order those who breach the rules of the game.

The NDC goes to the poll to pick its presidential and parliamentary candidates for the 2016 general election on Saturday, November 7.
