Christians march to proclaim Jesus’ Lordship

On Saturday, August 22, excited Christians set out from the Efua Sunderland Children’s Park to march to the Old Parliament Building in Accra.

They had one simple message, which was on all their banners and placards, ‘Jesus Christ is Lord over Ghana’.

Hundreds of leaflets were given, away and the march created a good and positive response.

At the beginning of the march, Prophet Jim Smith, Director of the Serving African Mission, organisers of the march, warned the Ghanaian church that the prosperity message had sent it to sleep, and it was now in “desperate trouble”.

He said: “We should go to the King’s mountain to worship the King, not to take His goods, but in their rush to grab as much as they can, the Ghanaian Church has lost the heart of the King. Now the soul of Ghana is in agony, but prosperity has shut the eyes of the Church. Judgement is surely coming”.

“We are marching again on Palm Saturday, and anyone wanting to join us should look out for the publicity,” he said.
