Use condom always – AIDS ambassador

Human Immune Virus and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS), Ambassador Rev. John Azumah, has said low rate of condom use during sex is the main cause of the recent upsurge of the HIV and AIDS virus in the country

He explained that one can easily contract the disease when he or she does not wear condom when having sex with an infected person.

He revealed this on “Anopa Bosuo” on Amansan Television (ATV) in Accra.

He claimed that married men were the cause of the increasing rate of the disease.

That, the HIV and AIDS ambassador explained was their failure to let their pregnant women go for HIV and AIDS test to find out their status so as to help protect their unborn babies.

“If husbands do not make their pregnant wives go for test for them to know their HIV and AIDS status they may end up infecting their unborn babies with the virus.”

Rev. Azumah thus advised people living with HIV and AIDS who have the intention of infecting people with the virus to remove that “evil” idea from their minds.

For her part, Madam Florence Odomakomah of Model of Hope, a non-governmental organisation, expressed worry about how HIV and AIDS patients were stigmatised.

“If you have been tested HIV positive please take your medicine well because if you don’t take it and you reach Resistant Virus stage, you will die,” he earned
