Akuse (E/R), July 14, GNA – The Primate of the Anglican Province of West Africa, the Most Reverend Robert G. A. Okine has laid the foundation stone for the commencement of work a 250-capacity St. Anthony’s Anglican Church at Akuse.
Preaching the sermon the Bishop Co-Adjutant of the Koforidua Diocese of the Anglican Church, the Most Reverend Francis B. Quashie observed that one weakness in the national life of Ghanaians was the failure of the majority of the people to see themselves as agents of God.
He said as a result, in times of difficulties, people tended to rely more on their intelligence and “human” strength instead of the Lord.
Bishop Quashie explained that, if Ghanaians come to the realisation that they were agents of God and, therefore, whatever they did was to fulfil the will of God, then all that they needed to do to achieve success was to demonstrate their desire to sacrifice their time and energies for the work to be done and God would always be around to show the way.
He called on Ghanaians to realise that, whatever they did was part of their service to God.
Bishop Quashie, therefore, called on the people of Akuse to show their determination to complete their church building and said God would provide them with the strength and resources to fulfil their dream.
An appeal for funds in aid of the church building yielded 83 million cedis.
