NPP is not recruiting ‘secret rebels’ – Karbo

The New Patriotic Party’s Anthony Abayifa Karbo has rubbished claims by the Eastern Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress [NDC], Bismark Tawiah Boateng that, the opposition party is “secretly training some rebels who are to be advanced into the system to safeguard the party’s interest in the 2016 elections”.

The Deputy Communications Director of the elephant party described the allegation as a “total fabrication” and “senseless”;adding that, “NDC is simply frustrated.”

According to Karbo, the party has no intention of commencing any move that will disturb the peace and security in the country. He claims the NDC are just “desperate” to win the 2016 elections, and is going the extra mile to manufacture lies.

In an interview with Peacefmonline.com, the former NPP National Youth Organizer opined that, “NPP is not a military organization to recruit and train rebels. We are not in Afghanistan or Pakistan to think of that.”

“We all know here in this country that it’s the NDC that has a history of perpetrating violence and disorder,” he added.

The new NPP parliamentary candidate for the Lawra constituency, however, said, “The NDC is only interested in things that will please them. They don’t think about Ghanaians. They are just desperate to stay in power … that is all they know.”
