Police Church Men’s Fellowship donates to veterans

Accra, June 12, GNA – The Ghana Police Church Men’s Fellowship on Saturday donated various items valued at five million cedis to the war veterans at the Legion Village in Accra.

The items included assorted used clothing, bags of rice, bars of key soap, loaves of bread, cartons of cooking oil, and fruits. Presenting the items, Mr. John Koranteng, President, said the gesture was in line with the Fellowship’s 13th anniversary celebration. He said it was also in recognition of the enormous sacrifice the veterans made during the first and second World Wars. Mr. Koranteng stated that their participation in the war sparked off the idea of self-governance and the strive for independence for the nation.

He assured the veterans that the church was behind them and would always offer them the needed support within their means. Ex lance Corporal Charles Adabrah, Chairman of the veterans, who received the items, expressed their appreciation for the offer.
