Call off strike or resign – Tarzan tells doctors

Dr Charles Wereko-Brobby, the Chief Policy Analyst of the Ghana Institute for Public Policy Options (GIPPO), a public policy think tank, has called on Ghanaian doctors to end their strike and return to work.

TUESDAY

Sarah Kwablah sues Daily Guide, others Gh¢6b

Daily Guide and two of its editors have been sued over a story the paper carried in June this year concerning what has become known as the ‘Asamoah Gyan Sex Tape Saga’.

Samson Lardy Anyenini, a lawyer and host of News File on Joy FM, who filed the writ, is demanding an amount of GH¢600,000.00 (six billion old cedis) as damages for the publication of a photograph of his client, Sarah Kwablah, in Daily Guide.

WEDNESDAY

Doctor sacked after Today newspaper exposé

A medical doctor at the Amasaman Government Hospital in the Ga West Municipality has been dismissed from the facility following Today’s exposé.

Other disciplinary actions have also been taken against three nurses for dereliction of duty in connection with the deaths of two patients who were taken to the facility for medical care but died after the nurses on duty delayed in attending to them.

The plot to the Asamoah Gyan-Sarah Kwabla alleged sex tape thickens by the day with new developments and new twists emerging as the case still goes through investigations by the Ghana police.

Doctors vote to remain on strike, not to resign

Members of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) have voted at crucial General Assembly meeting to remain on strike for two more weeks.

They have however agreed not to resign en masse as threatened by their leadership two weeks ago over an absence of documented conditions of service.
