Parents urged to invest in the education of their children

Mr Albert Tutu Ainoo, a lecturer at the Catholic University College of Education, has called on parents to invest in the education of their wards to ensure a secured future.

He said: “Knowledge is the only asset you can trade for wages and salaries and still possess them.”

Mr Ainoo said this during the graduation ceremony of Morning Star Academy Preparatory School at Shama in the Western Region.

He said there is the need for parents and teachers to inculcate in children sound moral values that would guide them throughout their lives.

Mrs Armstrong Etroo, Co-founder of the School, said it is the collective responsibility of the society to guide and mould the future leaders in order to become responsible adults.

She commended the staff and parents for their contributions and support throughout the academic year and pledged to instil in children qualities that would toughen them.

Mr Emmanuel Mark Ackon, the special guest of honour for the occasion, said Shama has produced distinguished personalities who are currently holding high profile positions in their endeavours and challenged the youth to take a cue from them.

The school, which was established in 2011, has a student population of 160 out of which 27 graduated from kindergarten two to class one.
