Two persons are feared dead and eight others trapped in a galamsey pit which collapsed Sunday, at Subreso in the Ashanti Region.
Reports say the area had been weakened because of the plethora of pits dug around the same vicinity.
Residents close to the pit however managed to rescue two people who were reported dead while feverish efforts were being made to rescue those still trapped under the debris.
Their bodies had since been deposited at the Tepa Government Hospital.
