Akim Peseato appeals for assistance

Akim Peseato(E/R), July 9, GNA- The people of Akim Peseato, near Begoro, in the Eastern Region, have appealed to the Fanteakwa District Assembly, as a matter of urgency, to assist them improve the infrastructural base of the community. Baffour Kwasi Afrifa, chief of the community, told the GNA that foodstuffs such plantain, cassava, cocoyam and maize were getting rotten due to the bad nature of the road network in the area. He noted that the road network from the community to Ahamahamasu, a distance of 10 kilometres, which is the marketing centre needs immediate rehabilitation. Baffour Afrifa complained that the standard of education in the community had fallen considerably due to the lack of teachers, saying only two teachers were at post instead of six. He said the youth in the area, currently engaged in tree planting exercise needed encouragement and material assistance to expand their activities.
