Confusion in NPP over new membership cards

The friction between the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and some other executives appear to be still existent after memos and counter-memos were issued regarding the firm to print and issue party membership cards.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party is considering a proposal to issue new membership ID cards at a fee of GHC7.

The firm to undertake the exercise is yet to be decided on, TV3 gathers.
But in an internal memo dated Friday, July 31 and sighted by www.tv3network.com, Paymenex Limited has been appointed as the official firm to carry out the exercise.

That memo was from the General Secretary.

But a counter memo from the National Treasurer, said no decision has been taken on the firm yet.

“This is to bring to your notice that the National Executive Committee of the party has not approved PAYMENEX as the company responsible for the issuance of party membership cards and collection of party dues.”

NPP’s internal wrangling has been cited as one of the reasons that led to the death of Upper East region Chairman Adams Mahama.
