We are on course to end dumsor – Power Minister

Power Minister, Dr. Kwabena Donkor has reiterated government’s commitment to ending the load shedding exercise popularly known as dumsor.

According to the Minister, there are concrete signs to indicate that Ghanaians will soon heave a sigh of relief.

Dr. Donkor’s hope is based on information that gas will, from August, flow to power some of the country’s plants that are currently not producing electricity due to lack of gas supply.

The Minister said these after launching the installation of solar lights to cocoa growing communities at Assin Sienchem in the Central region.

In a related development, lead operator of the Jubilee Oil Field, Tullow Oil, has announced the completion of repair works on the faulty compressor on the FPSO Kwame Nkrumah that resulted in the halting of gas export to the onshore processing plant for power generation.
