Let’s be bold to speak the truth – Archbishop

The Most Reverend Daniel Yinkah-Sarfo, Anglican Archbishop and Primate of the Central Province of West Africa, has urged his colleague pastors, to overcome hypocrisy and be bold to speak the truth, to save the nation from slipping into abyss.

He said they should not be afraid to speak their minds because of insults and political tagging.

They have a duty to assist in giving proper direction, and purge the society of anything undignified, evil and poisonous to its health.

He condemned the corrupt practices, mismanagement of the nation’s resources and growing crime and said nobody could pretend all was well.

The Most Rev. Yinkah-Sarfo was speaking at a thanks-giving/memorial service held at the Saint Cyprian’s Anglican Cathedral, to mark the 10th anniversary of the death of Mrs. Lydia Marion Arthur, wife of the first Diocesan Bishop of the Anglican Church in Kumasi.

The occasion was also used to launch the “Bishop J.B. Arthur’s Foundation”, which would be used to support charity.

A seed capital of GHc9,600.00 was raised during the event.

The Most Rev Yinkah-Sarfo said he found it disheartening recent recruitment scam involving the Ghana Police Service, reported vote buying by politicians and violent crimes, and said people should work together to make things right.

The expectation was that Christians would go out there to preach the truth to those in authority as John the Baptist and other early Christians did.

He urged all and sundry to have space to help promote social justice and morality.
