AMA not happy with media reports

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) on Monday said the three storey building that collapsed at Cantonments is not under its jurisdiction.

A statement signed by Numo Blafo III, Public Relation Officer at AMA, said the attention of management has been drawn to the castigation and insults being heaped on Dr Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, Accra Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), by some media houses on the said issue, which occurred on Saturday, July 25, 2015.

He said the area under reference was not in AMA’s jurisdiction but in the La Dadekotopon Municipal Assembly.

“It will be appreciated if all the media houses, which made that mistake, corrects the impression created among the general public that Cantonments is under the AMA, hence their unsavoury comments”, he said.

He reminded the general public that the AMA has 10 Sub-Metros including Ablekuma Central, Ablekuma North, Ablekuma South, Okaikwei North and Okaikwei South, Korle Klottey, Ayawaso East, Central and West and Ashiedu Keteku.
