Manso-Datano Youngsters AIDS Prevention Club launched

Manso-Datano (Ash), July 6, GNA – The Manso-Datano Youngsters AIDS Prevention Club, a Community-Based Organisation (CBO), has been launched at Manso-Datano in the Amansie West District of Ashanti. The organisation aims at educating the public on the HIV/AIDS disease and is being funded by the Ghana AIDS Commission (GAC).

Speaking at the launching, Reverend Antwi Adjei Broni, a resource person, stressed the need for the people to avoid promiscuity in order to reduce the spread of the disease. He said it was only attitudinal change that could reduce the incidence of HIV/AIDS because there was no cure for the disease. He asked communities to play an active role in the campaign by ensuring that moral education started from the home. Rev Broni advised the public not to discriminate against people living with the disease, adding that they should show compassion to them since they also had rights.
