Indomie supports Sallafest 2015

Indomie, the leading noodles brand, has supported this year’s Sallafest as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.

Shine Akiem Torsoo, Brands Manager for Indomie, said the support for the festival was extremely significant because it is one major event that brings people from all faiths to join the Muslim community, to fraternize and have fun.

Sallafest, which is arguably the biggest annual Muslim festival in Ghana, brings various Muslim communities on one platform to celebrate the breaking of the 30-day fast in the month of Ramadan.

The festival was organised by EXP Ghana, in collaboration with VVIP and Chapter O; two musical groups and climaxed with a concert.

This year’s festival begun with a procession of youthful chiefs of the various ethnic groups in the country, who dressed in their traditional regalia, rode majestically on horsebacks and in palanquins on the Nima highway.

This took place alongside the cooking and feeding of thousands of colorfully dressed celebrants, who were at the grounds to celebrate the end of the period of fasting.

The patrons of the festival enjoyed a variety of meals including Indomie instant noodles prepared in nutritious ways with different recipes.

The Sallafest was climaxed with a concert with performances from a number of brilliant but unknown artistes from Nima and its surroundings.

Ghanaian hiplife trio, VVIP, who are part of the organisers of Sallafest, were the first of the main acts to perform.

The group, which traces its root to Nima, surprised the crowd, when they introduced Friction, a founding member of the group to the crowd.

Reggie Rockstone, the newest member of the group also led the crowd through some of their new songs. Other artistes of the night were Kwaw Kese, Edem, MzVee, Chris Waddle, Trigmatic and several others.
