The Right Reverend Seth Kwaku Adofo, Primate of the Brotherhood Church, has urged government functionaries to take criticisms by the church in good faith.
He said the Church and the State, represented by the political leadership, shared the common goal of promoting the good of society, making life worth- living for everybody.
The two, he stated ‘are not’ remotely engaged in any rivalry, and “this is something that must be appreciated by all.”
Primate Adofo who was speaking at the end of a four-day National Delegates Conference of the Church in Kumasi, expressed discomfort with the hostile reaction and name calling by political party supporters, because of certain positions taken by the church they find distasteful.
“The Church and Nation Building” was the theme for the event.
The Brotherhood Spiritual Leader admonished Christians to lead upright lives and work hard to help purge society of crime and other social evils.
He said it was an irony that at the point in human history, where the birth of more Christian Churches were being witnessed, there should be growing crime and cruelty.
He cited armed robbery attacks, homosexuality, rape and defilement, corruption and intolerance, as typical examples, and said these were challenges the church would have to address.
