Jirapa/Lambussie District to get pipe-borne water

Jirapa, July 2, GNA- The Jirapa/Lambussie District Assembly would spend 282.3 million cedis, five percent counterpart funding for the provision of small town pipe system for three towns in the district.

Out of the amount, 175.6 million would be spent on Jirapa town water system while 64.6 million cedis and 42.1 million cedis respectively would be spent on Piina and Ullo Dantie communities.

Mr. Mohammed Kpeglah, an official of Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA) announced this at Jirapa during a one-day quarterly stakeholders meeting with members of the Jirapa/Lambussie District Assembly.

Mr Kpeglah said the amount was calculated according to the population of each community and every person is expected to pay 45 US dollars.

Mr. William Oware Nyarko, Water and Sanitation Engineer of CWSA at Wa, said under the small town pipe system, Busa, Chana and Funsi in the Wa District would also benefit.

He said a total of l6417 household places of convenience would also be provided under the sanitation sector.

Mrs. Winfred Dy-Yakah Jirapa/Lambussie District Chief Executive (DCE) said the Assembly would work hard to pay for the facilities to speed up development in the District.
