New anti-malaria drug launched in Tamale

Pharmanova Ghana Limited, a pharmaceutical company operating in the country, has launched a new anti-malaria drug ‘artemethan lumefantrine’ designed to fight the disease in different ages and body weights.

Dr Phananjay Fripathi, the General Manager of Pharmanova Ghana, who launched the anti-malaria drug in Tamale at the weekend, said the artemethan lumefantrine was very effective and urged the public to patronise the product.

He said the drug was locally produced and had been tested by the regulatory bodies to be highly efficacious.

Its chemical compositions, he said, were like those of existing anti-malaria drugs.

The launch was on the theme: “Celebrating Ten years in Providing Quality Healthcare in Ghana”. It brought together industry players across the Northern, Upper East and Upper West regions.

Dr Fripathin said Pharmanova started its operations in Ghana in 2005, and had produced many quality drugs for use both in Ghana and other West African countries.

Dr Vineet Arora, General Manager, Sales and Marketing of the company, noted that Pharmanova had been producing quality drugs at cheaper cost saying, “Our vision is to improve the lives of people”.

He said very soon there would be radio commercials on the new drug and urged the public and consumers to patronise the product for effective and healthier life.

“We at Pharmanova Limited are dedicated to improving the quality of people’s lives by providing innovative healthcare products, which are not just affordable but also meeting highest quality,” he said.
