3 cocaine suspects arrested at Krobo-Odumase

Three suspects are in the grips of the Eastern Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service for allegedly possessing 485 parcels of whitish substances suspected to be cocaine.

The suspects, Gifty Tetteh, 37, business woman, Teye Kwabena, 29, and Joseph Tetteh, 25 are currently in police custody in Galloway, Koforidua assisting in investigations.

Confirming the arrest to Brytfmonline.com, Head of Public Affairs Department of the Eastern Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Yaw Nketia-Yeboah, said the three suspects were arrested on July 1.

He said Teye Kwabena was arrested at Saisi near Odumase Krobo in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality on with 377 parcels of the suspected cocaine when the two District Commanders for Akuse and Somanya, ASP Francis Ackah and DSP Albert Deletse mounted a joint patrol on the roads of Odumase Krobo and its environs.

According to him, Gifty Tetteh was arrested after her name was allegedly mentioned by the first suspect as his source of supply of the suspected narcotics.

ASP Nketia-Yeboah indicated that the police operation team after a thorough search in the second suspect’s home discovered another 125 parcels in a room where Joseph Tetteh, who is believed to be an errand boy of Gifty was hiding.

The suspected cocaine, according to ASP Nketia-Yeboah, is yet to be sent to the Narcotic Control Board (NACOB) for forensic audit.

The police retrieved a sum of GHS3,500.00, € 200.00 , £20.00 and CFA 24.00 from Gifty Tetteh’s house.

He noted that Gifty claimed ownership of the substance and would be arraigned before court soon.
