More rains expected over the weekend

The entire country is expected to experience rainfall during this coming weekend according to weather experts.

The downpour would, however, vary from different locations and range from moderate to heavy.

Mr Michael Padi, Senior Meteorologist at the Ghana Meteorological Agency, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Thursday, said people who would be holding outdoor activities, should make provision for shelter.

“The public should do well to listen to the weather forecast in order to know how best to plan their activities over the weekend,” he said.

On the trend of the current rainy season, Mr Padi said the “active systems” had moved slightly north.

He said this meant the southern parts of the country would now experience intermittent light rains, especially in the mornings.

“A typical example is what was experienced in some parts of the country this morning, when it rained very lightly and quite briefly,” Mr Padi said.

The northern part of the country on the other hand, has begun to experience its major and only rainy season, said the senior meteorologist.
