VRA supports land owners

The Volta River Authority (VRA) has presented twenty four thousand Ghana cedis (GH¢ 24,000.00) to three communities in the Western Region to support their development.

The communities are Abuesi, Aboadze and Dwomo, who are owners of the land on which the VRA Thermal Plant operates.

The donation was made following calls by the chiefs and elders of the area to the VRA to help them build a shrine for a River god, which is alleged to be a factor hampering the performance of the Thermal Plant at Aboadze.

Officials of VRA also presented a cheque for GH¢ 200,000 as part payment of the cost of the land acquired for the project.

Nana Attom III, the Chief of Aboadze, expressed gratitude to VRA and also encouraged the company to make full payment of the cost of the land.

The stool secretary, Mr. John Kingsley Arthur, received the cheque on behalf of the chiefs of the three communities.
