Strangers With Hope(SwH), a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of lives in the areas of education and health, has urged final year students in the just ended Basic Education Certificate Examination(BECE) which saw the West Africa Exams Counci (WAEC) cancelling five papers, not to be discouraged by that event.
The Executive Director of Strangers With Hope Eric Osakunor stressed that such events when they occur must bring out the best in the students and advised them to remain focused in the midst of the trauma the cancellation must have visited on them.
The organisation according to Mr. Osakunor has decided to embark on a tour of some selected schools in the Central Region to inspire the students to fight hard and finish the race ahead of them.
WAEC has cancelled five papers namely English Language 2, Religious and Moral Education 2, Science 2, Mathematics2 and Social Studies 2 following a wide spread leakage of the examination questions. Meanwhile, Investigations into the incident are in progress to unearth the full facts of the malpractice and the Council has promised that it will not spare anybody including its own who will be found culpable.
So far the organization has visited Opeikuma and Hasse International Schools all in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
Mr. Eric Osakunor hopes Strangers With Hope will be able to visit as many of the schools before they re-write the cancelled papers.
Some of the students expressed joy during an interactive session at the gesture of the organization and promised to give off their best in the coming days when they have to go and re-write papers again.
