NPP-Canada Donates to the Family of the Late Adams Mahama

NPP-Canada has once again demonstrated its leadership by donating a substantial amount to the family of the late Upper East Regional Chairman Adams Mahama, who was fatally attacked by criminal assailants while he drove home from work on the night of May 20, 2015.

All the Chapters of the Branch contributed equally to this substantial donation, which was transferred by the Branch Treasurer, Richard Oppong to Regional Council of Elder Rockson Bukari, for onward presentation during the late Chairman’s Adua celebrations, in the presence of family members and party leaders, including the Flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, eliciting resounding applause.

This donation is in line with the significant trust fund set up by Nana Akufo-Addo, to support the late Chairman’s family, on top of other initial donations made by the party and other well-wishers.

The decision to make this donation was arrived at an emergency Branch Executive Committee meeting called by the Branch Chairman, Kwame Abrefah, soon after the shocking news of the Chairman’s rather untimely passing.

At that meeting, it was also decided that the Chairman will personally call a next of kin of the late Regional Chairman, to commiserate with the family and to communicate the Branch’s resolve to tangibly support them cope with this great loss. This nice gesture has been fulfilled.

NPP Canada is very pleased that peace continues to prevail in the Region and in the NPP overall, noting especially the exemplary leadership shown by the party’s leader, Nana Akufo-Addo in ensuring that this tragedy did not escalate.

Yours Sincerely,

—–Signed—-
Prince O. Sefah.
Secretary, NPP-Canada.
