It has now come to light that Corporal Matthew Adabuga who was brought down from Holland by the government to tell tales at the National Reconciliation Commission also enjoyed a special VIP treatment while in the country.
Apart from the provision of free lodging and boarding, the man was assigned an official Nissan Terrano vehicle with an official driver and an official escort.
Corporal Adabuga used the vehicle driven by Thomas Benefo of the National Security and travelled to and from Navrongo to say ”hello” to his relations and friends, all at the expense of the state. To beef up security around him, Cpl Adabuga was also assigned a pistol.
He was driven around by the official driver, calling on old friends and NPP officials until his departure at the Accra Airport.
Very moderate estimates of the huge amount spent on the witness runs into tens of millions of cedis at the expense of the tax-payer, all to fulfill a hidden anti-Rawlings agenda.
