AMA reminds general public not to re-construct structures

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly has reminded the General Public especially those whose unauthorized structures were removed not to re-construct those structures without approval from the Assembly.

AMA gave this advice in a press statement signed by Mr Sam Ayeh-Detey, the Metro Coordinating Director of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly and copied to Ghanaweb on June 22, 2015.

The statement said “it is an offence under the Rules and Regulations (byelaws) of the AMA to re-construct those structures without approval from the Assembly”.

“Any individual or group of persons who go contrary to the rules and regulations would be prosecuted and surcharged for the cost of removal”, it added.

The statement stressed that “all are enjoined to abide by this directive”.
