Photos: President Mahama distributes 10,000 school sandals

President John Dramani Mahama on Monday, June 22, 2015, began the free distribution of 10, 000 school sandals to deprived schools in the country.

The sandals are meant to match up with the free school uniform that the government is distributing to deprived schools to encourage parents to send their children to school.

The distribution is in fulfillment of President Mahama’s promise to school children during his tour in May 2014 to the rejuvenated Defense Industrial Holdings Company (formerly GIHOC shoe factory).

Presenting the first batch of the school sandals at the Ada Foah Roman Catholic Basic School in the Ada East District, President Mahama said, the government will continue to invest in school children to achieve 100 percent enrollment.
