The Western Regional Police Command, has arrested John Okpa Wilson, a businessman, for allegedly issuing false cheque.

Wilson has been charged for defrauding by false pretences.

A police source told Ghana News Agency in Sekondi that the complainant, Henry Odom, a resident of Nii Boi Town in the Greater Accra Region, lodged a report with the police about four months ago that, the suspect had deceived him to pay a cash sum of GH? 10,000.00 into his account in order to purchase a Nissan Micra Saloon car for him.

According to the complainant, Wilson failed to purchase the vehicle and refused to return the money.

Therefore, when Odom demanded the return of the money, Wilson issued a cheque dated April 28, 2015, however, when the complainant submitted the cheque at the bank, it was not honoured and since then he had made several efforts to get his money to no avail.

Therefore, a report was lodged with the police in Sekondi and Wilson was arrested and charged with the offence.
