“Kalypo” defilement case: June 25 is judgment day

The Ashaiman Circuit Court has set June 25, 2015 to decide the fate of 48 -year -old taxi driver, Kofi Sekyi alias Samuel Inkoom who allegedly defiled his 8 -year- old niece and later offered her “Kalypo” fruit drink to appease her.

The victim (name withheld) until the incident, had been living with his uncle at Ashaiman Jericho.

The 8 -year -old has undergone vagina surgery at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and is currently undergoing psychotherapy at the Child Health Department of the same hospital although Doctors say the child is not able to come for regular lessons due to lack of financial support.

Kofi Sekyi has pleaded not guilty to the offence.

The court presided over by Judge Lydia Osei-Marfo on Thursday announced June 25, 2015 for judgment to be passed after the accused Kofi Sekyi closed his defense.
