Man, 50, found dead at public toilet

A man believed to be 50 years was found dead at a public toilet in Sabonjida, a suburb of Tamale in the Northern region, Today can confirm.

The incident which occurred late hours of Saturday, June 13, 2015 shocked many residents who could not believe what they saw.

Sources close to the bereaved told Today that the deceased was found at the main entrance of the male section at the premises of the KVIP toilet, lying on his stomach with his ablution can in his hands.

Narrating the incident to this paper, the owner of the facility, Inusah Abdulla, confirmed that the deceased used the male section of the KVIP toilet, but had no idea as to what caused his death until someone notified him.

The deceased was believed to be a native of Mali who was in Ghana “begging for alms.”

The body had since been deposited at the Tamle Teaching Hospital for autopsy.

To this end, the Tamale Zongo Chief, Sheikh Dalihu Abdul Mumin, pledged to take full responsibility of the burial service of the mortal remains after the autopsy.

The Linguist of Zongo Chief, Baba Iddi, indicated that the Zongo chief was keen on helping the police to unravel the mystery behind the death of the man.

Earlier, an eleven-year-old boy fell in a borehole while playing with friends in KuKuo, a suburb of Tamale metropolis.

The boy died before the arrival of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) to rescue the victim.
