Listowell must resign as GJA Chair-Journalist

A journalist with Kumasi based Metro FM has called for the resignation of the Ashanti regional chairman of the Ghana Journalists’ Association; Listowell Yesu Bukarson.

Muftaw Mohammed who spoke to rawgist.com on the matter was unhappy the GJA President has buried his head deep in partisanship, a situation he believes will not auger well for journalism in the region.

He expects Listowell to resign within a week to “save the journalists’ front from polarisation”.

“As head of journalists, Listowell Bukarson must not be seen to be showing politically biased opinions against any of the registered political parties in Ghana”, Muftaw told rawgist.com’s Bernard Buachi.

Listowell Yesu Bukarson contested the just ended NPP parliamentary primaries in the Builsa North constituency but lost.

Muftaw, who claims to know Listowell very well on several fronts describes him as a principled man who will heed his advise and resign honourably for the greater good of journalists in the Ashanti region.
