Tema motoway to undergo reconstruction in September – roads minister

The minister of roads has limited that the Tema motorway which was constructed in the 1963 under the Nkrumah regime will soon undergo reconstruction. The Roads Minister Inusah Fuseini disclosed that the reconstruction of the Tema motorway forms part of the harbour expansion which is likely to begin in September this year.

He said since its construction many years back no government has undertaken any major maintenance work hence the governments’ plane to expand the road beginning this year. He described the residual value of the motorway as zero. Hon Inusah Fuseini made this known to kwame Tutu, the host of breakfast show on rainbow radio 87.5fm. the road minister further announced that processes are underway for the re-engineering of the N1 high way with construction of footbridges and underpasses to reduce collision of human and vehicular traffic Hon Inusah took time to explain the government’s decision to use GH?30M of the GH?50m disaster fund to do road repairs and maintenance.
